Our journey continues through the mountains, where you’ll witness the dramatic Ziz Valley and its gorges. We’ll also make a stop in Midelt, a city famous for its delicious apples, before continuing to Erfoud, a town known for its fascinating fossils. Finally, our adventure culminates in Merzouga, where we’ll rest comfortably in a hotel nestled near the majestic sand dunes.

After breakfast, buckle up for a thrilling 4×4 adventure in our Toyota Land Cruiser! We’ll embark on a tour around the majestic dunes, exploring the hidden gems of the area. Our first stop is the captivating village of Tiserdmine. Here, we’ll step back in time as we marvel at fossils embedded within the rocks, whispering tales of prehistoric times. Next, we’ll have the privilege of meeting a nomadic family and sharing a cup of traditional tea with them. Gain a deeper appreciation for their unique way of life and experience Moroccan hospitality firsthand. Continuing our journey, we’ll drive through Khamlia, a village brimming with culture. Originally from Mali, the residents here have found a home in the desert, showcasing their artistic talents through local crafts. But wait, there’s more! Prepare to be mesmerized by a captivating performance of Gnawa music, a highlight you won’t want to miss. After a short drive, we’ll arrive at our hotel in Merzouga. But the day isn’t over yet! As the sun dips below the horizon, casting long shadows across the dunes, we’ll embark on a camel caravan ride. This unforgettable journey will take us to the foot of the majestic dunes, where a breathtaking desert sunset awaits. As night falls, immerse yourself in the magic of traditional music and dance under a blanket of stars, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

After witnessing the awe-inspiring desert sunrise, we’ll hop back into our 4×4 jeeps and delve deeper into Morocco’s rich tapestry. Our first stop is Rissani, steeped in history as the former imperial city and birthplace of the Alaoui dynasty. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the bustling souk, a vibrant marketplace where villagers from surrounding areas gather to trade everything from fresh produce and colorful fabrics to aromatic spices, a specialty of Rissani. Next, we journey onwards to Erfoud, a town where prehistoric times come alive! Fossil treasures unearthed from the surrounding areas are transformed into stunning works of art, from furniture and home decor to intricate jewelry like bracelets, keychains, and necklaces. Keep your eyes peeled for unique souvenirs to commemorate your trip! Our adventure continues towards Tinghir, the gateway to the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges. Towering cliffs, a haven for climbers and trekkers, will leave you speechless. Take in the dramatic scenery and perhaps even dip your toes in the cool waters of the Todra River. Finally, we reach Boumalne Dades, a charming town nestled amidst the Dades Valley. After a full day of exploration, unwind and relax at our comfortable hotel, ready for the next leg of our Moroccan adventure.

After exploring the majestic Dades Gorges, we’ll embark on an off-road adventure along a rugged track near the Atlas Mountains. Our destination: Boutghrar, a village where nomadic communities have carved their homes into the very caves of the mountains. Here, you’ll witness firsthand the fascinating contrast between the desert nomads encountered earlier and these unique cave-dwelling nomads of the Atlas. Following this cultural immersion, we’ll savor a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant in Boutghrar. With full bellies, we’ll continue our journey towards the captivating Rose Valley in Kelaat Mgouna. Immerse yourself in the fragrant world of roses as we explore a “house of roses,” where delicate rose petals are transformed into luxurious perfumes, lotions, and oils. These fragrant products are a perfect souvenir to remember your Moroccan adventure! Please note: While our tour won’t be visiting the Ouarzazate solar energy project itself, it’s worth mentioning that this impressive initiative is harnessing clean, renewable energy to power Morocco’s future. By 2018, it’s estimated that the project will provide up to 1.1 million Moroccans with a sustainable energy source.

We’ll visit Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified ksar (a traditional earthen village) is still inhabited, with Berber families living within its ancient walls and surrounding villages. Keep your eyes peeled – you might even recognize the setting from famous Hollywood movies like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Prince of Persia! After immersing ourselves in history and culture, we’ll continue our journey to Marrakech. The afternoon is yours to explore this captivating city at your own pace. Wander through the labyrinthine alleys of the medina, lose yourself in the vibrant souks, or simply relax in a traditional riad courtyard, soaking up the unique atmosphere.
