  • Day 1: Ouarzazate - Taznakht - Foum zguit - Iriki - Chegaga

Prepare for an exhilarating transition from civilization to the deep desert. We begin in Taznakht, the heart of Berber weaving, where you can admire the intricate artistry of handmade saffron-dyed carpets. After crossing the rugged terrain to Foum Zguid for a traditional lunch, we leave the asphalt behind. Keep your camera ready as we traverse the salt flats of Lake Iriki, a hauntingly beautiful dry lake bed framed by distant peaks. By late afternoon, the towering Chegaga dunes emerge on the horizon. Swap your vehicle for a camel to trek into the golden silence of the dunes. As night falls, the desert comes alive with the rhythm of Gnawa drums and a campfire dinner under a canopy of stars.

  • Day 2: Cheguagua - Mhamid – Tamgroute Library – Zagora

Wake up early to witness the sun cresting over the Sahara’s highest peaks before we head toward the outpost of Mhamid. Our journey continues to Tamegroute, a center of learning and craftsmanship. Here, we’ll explore the green-glazed pottery workshops and the prestigious Koranic Library, home to ancient manuscripts written on gazelle parchment. We’ll even step into the cool corridors of the village’s underground Kasbah. We conclude the day in Zagora, the historic "Gate to the Desert." Don't miss the chance to pose with the iconic mural pointing the way to Timbuktu, marking the end of a 52-day camel caravan.

  • Day 3: Zagora – Draa Valley – Tansikht – Nkob - Tazarine - Alnif - Rissani - Merzouga

Today is a voyage through history and geology. We depart Zagora, following the palm-fringed Draa Valley before cutting across the stony desert plains. We’ll stop to see the ancient rock art at Aït Ouazik, where petroglyphs whisper stories from thousands of years ago. After passing through Tazarine, famous for its henna, and Alnif, a paradise for trilobite fossil hunters, we reach Rissani. As the ancestral home of the Alaouite dynasty, its history is as rich as the dates sold in its markets. Finally, the massive orange waves of Erg Chebbi appear. We’ll settle into a lodge right at the edge of the dunes for a peaceful night.

  • Day 4: Merzouga - Khamlia - Merzouga

Today is dedicated to total desert immersion. We’ll navigate the perimeter of the dunes, following sections of the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally route and visiting nomadic families to learn about life in this extreme environment. In the village of Khamlia, you will be welcomed by the soul-stirring melodies of the Gnawa people, descendants of former slaves who preserved their heritage through music. For lunch, enjoy a local specialty: Medfouna (Berber Pizza). Spend your afternoon wandering the vibrant local souks or simply relaxing with a mint tea while watching the shifting shadows on the dunes.

  • Day 5: Merzouga - Erfoud - Touroug - Tinjdad - Tinghir – Todra Gorges

After a final desert sunrise and a hearty breakfast, we journey to Erfoud, the "Fossil Capital." You'll see how 300-million-year-old sea creatures are expertly polished into marble masterpieces. Our path then winds through the vast palm groves of Tinjdad and Touroug until we reach the dramatic Todra Gorges. Here, the canyon walls rise vertically to nearly 300 meters, leaving only a narrow path for the river and travelers. Take a refreshing walk along the riverbed, feeling the immense scale of the limestone cliffs surrounding you.

  • Day 6: Tinghir - Boumalne – Dades gorges- Boutaghrar- Rose valley - Kelaa Mgouna - Skoura – Ouarzazate

Our final day explores the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs." We’ll marvel at the "monkey fingers" rock formations in Dades before heading off-road into the High Atlas foothills. In Boutaghrar, we’ll meet cave-dwelling nomads, offering a rare glimpse into a lifestyle that has remained unchanged for centuries. After a mountain-view lunch, we descend into the Rose Valley at Kelaat M’Gouna, famous for its May rose harvest and fragrant floral waters. Our final stop is the lush Skoura Oasis to visit the 17th-century Kasbah Amridil before returning to Ouarzazate to conclude our epic loop.
